The Story: this artwork was born alongside the birth of my identity as mother-artist. Each artwork, self-titled a “container of devotion,” reflects my devotion to both mothering my baby and mothering my art amidst the heaviest seasons of postpartum. The central composition guides energy from the womb space upward, inviting viewers to connect with their center, their truth and their devotion to self.
Who she belongs to:This artwork belongs to anyone who is tending to their desires, honoring all parts of themselves (especially the darkest, heaviest parts), and birthing a renewed sense of identity. She will support you as you honor your longings, grief a loss, birth a renewed sense of self, make a big life pivot and/or let go of a self who is no longer serving you.
Materials:acrylic, iridescent powdered pigment, embroidery, beads, fabric appliqué on 100% silk chiffon
Ready to hang! Framed in a raw, natural maple. Wired with a transparent wire to be nearly invisibly behind the silk.
