The Motherhood Project is a collection of small mixed media works made during the liminal space of postpartum, after giving birth to and becoming a mother to my son, Levi. Created to make sense of the tangled web of identities (mother-artist-human) during the infrequent naps that last anywhere from 10 mins to 90 mins [insert shrug emoji]. Hand-dyed silk from artwork that didn't-work is used as a practice of reflection and connecting with the self I was before becoming a mother.
What your purchase supports: a slow “ramping up,” back into work while still healing from birth, being a primary caregiver all while reclaiming my sense of identity. Pricing is kept accessible on purpose. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
To make sure you don’t miss out on a piece is to sign up for my newsletter here.
Framing ideas: Hang in a floater frame, behind or in front of the mat or on a magnetic thumb tack on your wall
Media: hand-dyed + painted silk, embroidery
Size: 5x7"
